Shortwork Labs

Privacy Policy

This policy explains how DAYDREAM PRODUCTS LLC, doing business as Shortwork Labs (“Shortwork Labs,” “we,” or “us”), handles information about visitors to shortworklabs.com, buyers of our software, and people who contact us. We are responsible for this information as its controller.

Effective October 23, 2026

1. Information we collect

  • Website visits. Our servers process your IP address, browser information, the page requested, and the time of the request to deliver pages and keep the website secure. We do not use analytics.
  • Purchases. Purchases are sold through Link, Stripe’s merchant of record, which collects your payment details; we never receive your full card number. Link provides us with a purchase reference and purchase and refund status, and may provide your email address and order details.
  • License activation and validation. Your license key, a device identifier generated by the software, activation, validation, and deactivation events, and your IP address and technical request details.
  • Support. Your name, email address, messages, and any attachments or diagnostic logs you choose to send us.

2. What our software sends

Command Center contacts our licensing service only to activate, validate, and deactivate your license. Validation happens at most once every 24 hours, or when you choose to check your license. When you add a website to Command Center, it downloads that website’s icon directly from the website’s domain, which lets that website see your IP address. Command Center does not send usage statistics, analytics, or crash reports. Checking for updates opens our release page in your browser.

3. Cookies

This website does not set cookies. After a purchase, our checkout site sets one strictly necessary cookie so it can show you your license key. It holds a random reference, cannot be read by scripts, and expires after 10 minutes. Our network security provider may also set strictly necessary security cookies. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies or track you across other websites, so browser Do Not Track signals do not change how we handle your information.

4. How we use information

  • to deliver the website and keep it, our checkout, and our licensing service secure;
  • to deliver purchases and issue, activate, validate, suspend, and recover licenses;
  • to enforce license limits and prevent fraud and abuse;
  • to respond to support, refund, and privacy requests; and
  • to comply with legal obligations.

5. Legal bases for EU and UK residents

We process information to perform our contract with you (purchases, licensing, and support for buyers), to comply with legal obligations, and for our legitimate interests in operating and securing our services, preventing fraud and license abuse, and answering inquiries. License information is required to use the software; without it, we cannot activate your license. We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects.

6. Sharing

We share information only with service providers that help us operate: our payment processor and merchant of record (Stripe and Link), hosting and infrastructure providers (servers, networking, security, and DNS), and our email provider. We may also disclose information when required by law or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We do not sell or share personal information or use it for advertising.

7. Retention

  • License records: while the license exists and as long as needed for refunds, disputes, and support.
  • License backups: replaced on a 14-day cycle.
  • The checkout delivery reference: deleted after 10 minutes.
  • Payment, financial, and tax records: kept by Link as merchant of record.
  • Server and network logs: kept for the periods set by our hosting and network providers.
  • Support correspondence: as long as needed to resolve your request.

8. International transfers

We operate from the United States, and information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict its processing. To make a request, email admin@shortworklabs.com. We may verify your identity first and will respond within the time the law requires. We may keep information we need to meet legal obligations, prevent fraud, or resolve open transactions. Information held by Link is controlled by Link; contact Link for requests about it. If you are in the EU or UK, you may also complain to your data protection authority.

10. Children

Our website and software are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No system is completely secure.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy by posting a new version with its effective date. We will update it before we change how we collect or use information.
