Effective October 23, 2026
1. Acceptance
You accept this agreement by indicating your agreement when you purchase a license, or by installing, activating, or using the Software. If you accept on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind it. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Software, and you may request a refund under ourRefund Policy.
2. License
Subject to this agreement and payment for your license, we grant you a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to install and use the Software for personal or business purposes on one Windows computer at a time for each license you purchase. An organization needs a separate license for each computer on which the Software is active. The Software is licensed, not sold. We and our licensors retain all rights not expressly granted.
3. Activation and internet connection
The Software requires an internet connection. Activation requires your license key and a connection to our licensing service. After activation, the Software confirms your license online periodically, at most once every 24 hours. If it cannot reach the licensing service, a previously confirmed license continues to work for up to seven days; after that, the Software must confirm the license online again before it can be used.
Your license key is shown once, on the page you reach after purchase. Store it somewhere safe.
To move the Software to a different computer, deactivate it on the previous computer from the Software’s licensing settings, then activate it on the new one. A significant hardware change may cause the Software to treat your computer as a new device.
If you lose your license key or can no longer access the computer it was activated on, contact us at admin@shortworklabs.com and we will help you recover access. We may verify your purchase first and may decline requests that appear to circumvent the one-computer limit.
4. Restrictions
Except as applicable law expressly permits, you may not:
- copy or distribute the Software, other than for reasonable backup or installation;
- sell, rent, lend, share, sublicense, or transfer the Software or your license key;
- circumvent license activation, validation, device limits, or other technical protections;
- reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or modify the Software; or
- use the Software in violation of applicable law or the rights of others.
5. Actions you configure
The Software can open files and folders, launch programs, visit websites, and run commands or scripts that you configure or import. You are responsible for those actions and their results. We are not responsible for third-party software, websites, or scripts that we do not provide.
6. Third-party components
The Software includes open-source and other third-party components. Those components are licensed under their own terms, which are included with the Software and govern your use of those components.
7. Updates
We are not obligated to provide updates or support. Updates we make available are installed by you and are covered by this agreement unless they come with different terms. Future major versions may be sold separately.
8. Refunds and license suspension
Refunds are described in our Refund Policy. If your payment is refunded, reversed, or charged back, or if you materially breach this agreement, we may suspend your license. A suspended license stops working the next time the Software validates it online.
9. Discontinuation of the licensing service
If we permanently discontinue the licensing service, we will make reasonable efforts to release an update that allows existing licensees to continue using the version they purchased without online validation.
10. Privacy
Activation and validation send your license key, a device identifier, and technical request information to our licensing service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle that information.
11. Termination
This agreement remains in effect while you hold a valid license. We may terminate it if you materially breach it. When it ends, you must stop using and uninstall the Software. Sections 4, 5, 12, 13, 14, and 15 survive termination.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Software is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every Windows configuration or future version of Windows.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from this agreement or the Software. Our total liability for any claim arising from this agreement or the Software will not exceed the amount you paid for the license giving rise to the claim.
14. Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. You may not use or export the Software in violation of United States export control or sanctions laws.
15. General
This agreement, together with the Refund Policy and Privacy Policy it references, is the entire agreement between you and us about the Software. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign this agreement without our written consent; we may assign it in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Nothing in this agreement limits consumer rights that cannot be waived under the law that applies to you.
